Geek: CF and Harddrives Storage
Sweet. I just sold a CF card for $30 more than I bought it. 12% return, over 2 weeks, too bad that doesn't scale to well.
I'm running out of space on my primary harddrives, checking pricewatch, 250GB is the current sweet point in the serial ATA drive at $90, 35 cents a Gig (jumping to ~40cents above and below), For reference this is enough for 62 average uncompressed dvd's, or 500 uncompressed CD's , which combined could probably hold my entire collection of audio and video I've ever owned (including childhood tapes!) and getting probably 1/20 of all the content I've ever watched/istened too. Which continues the faster than doubling of capacity from the last time I bought a harddrive for about $120 18months, so everytime I buy a new harddrive it can backup all the previous harddrives before it with room to spare, so cheaper than going down the raid approach. Interestingly 2x250GB is about half the cost of 1x500GB.
